Sergey Nikolaevich KRIVOSHAPKO was born in Russia in 1948. S.N. Krivoshapko completed the Volgograd technical secondary school (Civil Engineering) in 1967, then entered the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, received his Dipl-Eng in Civil and Industrial Engineering from the same University in 1972, and remained there as post-graduate student till 1976.
Afterwards, he worked for about nine years as a civil engineer.
S.N. Krivoshapko received his PhD degree in Engineering Mechanics in 1981 from the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia.
S. Krivoshapko came to work at the same University in the Engineering faculty in 1984.
In 1995 he received his DSc degree and became Professor of Engineering Mechanics.
At present time, S.N. Krivoshapko is a Head of Department of Strength of Materials and Structures of the PFU of Russia. He is the author of approximately 192 publications that include 4 textbooks with the stamp of the Ministry of Education, 4 monographs, 2 references, 2 inventor's certificates, 16 names of educational literature, 145 scientific articles and 19 abstracts of scientific conferences. His general research interests are geometric investigations of complex surfaces and strength analysis of thin elastic shells.
The most considerable results were obtained in the process of investigation of geometry and stress-strain state of developable non-degenerated shells.
S.N. Krivoshapko is a Honorable Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation, a member of the Interregional Public Association “Spatial Structures”, a member of the Expert Board on architecture and construction of the Higher Attestation Commission at the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, a member of Expert Board
